Storage Bed & Chalkboard Headboard
Converted my spare (junk) bedroom into a guest bedroom/storage unit/office/workshop (talk about getting creative!) Went with a teal and gray color scheme. Outcome was superb!
Project 1) Chalkboard Headboard
I had a large heavy mirror that my neighbor gave me that I could not sell on Craigslist for the life of me. So I took the mirror out and made the frame into a headboard for the spare bedroom. This is one of my best projects and it was super easy! Spray painted the cardboard frame backing with chalkboard paint. Then distressed the frame by sanding and staining. Volia!
Project 2) Storage Bed
Needed a place to store all my christmas decor and other stuff there is no room for in my 2 bedroom apartment. Decided to build a storage bed- which seemed like a daunting task but it really wasn't bad. Got the plans off the internet from this guy's site: http://www.internetdesignconcepts.com/bedplans/ . Total cost was under $200 so thats great. I changed up the plans to not have the cut-aways (since the stuff under I rarely accessed), added molding, and put handles on the top sheets of plywood so I could lift them up. Basically the top is made with 4 pieces of plywood and I can lift up whatever piece I needed to get into.
